The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award consists of one unit, HSA1 covering:

Why and how you manage health and safety.

Dealing with common workplace hazards.

Stopping incidents and ill-health before they happen.

Learning from incidents.
Duration:
3 days, consisting of:
Minimum 18 hours tuition.
2 hours of private self-study time.
Assessment:
The course is assessed by learners carrying out a workplace health and safety assessment which:

Considers how health and safety is currently managed, and how it can be managed better.

Identifies health and safety issues present, how they are controlled, and if the risk can be reduced.

Selects the most important issue for improvement using moral, legal and financial reasons.
It is recommended that the assessment takes approximately 3 hours.
Entry Criteria:
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Learners must have a suitable standard of English language to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
Delivery:
This course will be remotely delivered by a tutor in a virtual classroom and delegates must have access to a suitable PC, laptop or tablet with a camera, speakers and a robust internet connection sufficient to cope with online delivery.
Progression:
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
